This is Stewarts first Tanzanian coffee, and we are excited to be offering it. You may find the tasting notes are like that of other African coffees (often lighter and fruitier). The coffee itself is a fully washed Bourbon variety from Ilomba Coffee Group, grown between 1850 and 1900masl. Ilomba is a voluntary organisation of 24 smallholder coffee farmers aimed at joining forces to improve coffee production and marketing. They also provide benefits to other farmers who are not members of the group, allowing use of the group’s facilities to improve the quality of the coffee their neighbours produce.
The Tanzania Ilomba offers a full syrupy body, with a crisp, yet delicate acidity, often present in a pear or pink lady apple! Very little bitterness pronounces itself, as notes of lemongrass and it’s tea like nature helps keep it at bay! One very clean coffee, enjoy!
